Kingston Upon Thames, The Yacht Basin 1906

More about this scene
The river upstream from Kingston Bridge was largely free from commercial traffic, and consequently safer for yachtsmen. The river also gains from the wide expanse of open ground at Hampton Court, where the wind (coming mainly from the south west) is unimpeded by buildings. The chimney (right) is part of Fricker's Eagle brewery with a wharf on the riverside.
