More about this scene
The design of the tower with its faceted buttresses is very much like the one at nearby Eye. The battlements have shields representing the Wingfield and FitzLewes families, who paid for the tower in the mid 15th century. The chancel was rebuilt in a very plain style in c1820. To the right are the red brick mock-Tudor Church Villas, and to the left is the Guildhall; behind the photographer is The King's Head.
