I was at both the old and new Scotland Hill school, left in 72. Mr Shanks was a fearsome character, with some relief when he retired. I use to go to Mrs Huddles house occasionally as she lived in forest end. Kind lady. Mrs Culbert lived opposite me in Hearts Leap Road, I remember her driving a light blue bubble car, always had a serious look about her. When I was in my early teens birdnesting I got caught on the Swan neck pipe in the top right hand side of shop and had to be rescued by Bill Parker who lived opposite. He had to hold the only available ladder on his shoulder I climbed down and ran away o happy days. Can anyone tell me where Ackrill corner is located in Little Sandhurst as it is named after my great great grandfather Ackrill and my grandfather George Ackrill would be very proud that a street was named after him. It is no longer listed and the only photo of it showing Ackrills corner is from 1955 so it must have been re named since then. I would like to know where exactly it is located in Little Sandhurst. Hoping someone can help me.

I attended Scotland Hill School from 1940 to 1946, after which I moved to Crowthorne C of E School. I have many memories of Scotland Hill School, Mr Shanks the Headmaster did not take any fooling around, his cane often warmed our hands for what seemed to us minor problems, but he was a fair person really.
