Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant Pony Trekking

A Memory of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant.

I used to go there around the same time , there was a man there called Bilko and a young lad called Gellie who used to take the rides out, I often wonder if they are both still about, it would be nice to find out Gellie came down to the pub in the village with my family and I thought he was really cute, we were about the same age, I wonder if that's him in the photo taken back in 1965

I remember Gellie, well; who doesn't from miles around the Tanat Valley, he was very popular seemed to bring everything and everyone to life. He and his brother grew up horse riding, that it is not possible to think on any of them without thinking about horses. It used to be great view looking outside my bedroom window at the pony trekkers trail about half mile long lead by Gellie, one of his brothers or Ann Trimaco (not sure is that exact spelling). I worked with Gellie, for short while I remember being employed to repair a fence along side the Trekking centre. He came out to me asked how I was, I said OK, but not eaten yet today, he went back inside and came out with packed lunch and drink gave them to me. Unfortunately I have lost touch since I moved from the Village of Llanrhaeadr-y-Mochnant; But know he was struggling with some health issues. We went to the same primary school and high school, but he being a couple of years older than me, never saw much of him in high school. Though admittedly my attendance was very poor to say the least I was never missed by the teachers or anyone else far as I know. But seldom went unnoticed while I was in school. I was only 4ft tall from when I started in year one until I left in year 5 but grew a foot or more after I left school glad to say.
Gellie is my father. He is alive and well.
I have enjoyed reading your memories about my Dad. He is still living happily in Llanrhaeadr, and him and his brothers are continuing to enjoy spending their time working with horses. Could I please ask your name?
