I visited my Grandpa who lived at Greta-Lea Cottage in Main St, with my Mother , I remember getting off the bus at the swing park , usually having a wee go on a swing first, then walking along the road .I remember how the stars seemed to twinkle more brightly in Longriggend , and she pointed out and named some of them to me ...I remember her taking my hand and putting it along with hers into her coat pocket to keep warm ...see more

my grandparents lived in longriggend 97 i think great uncle alex and andrew lived in end cottage .next door was aunt janet with son alan and then granny jessie stevenson and grandpa david.we had 2 happy times there with snow up to door we had to climb out window and shovel it away .2 rooms ,an organ with pedals,cooking on a range,butler sink built on bathroom and back bedroom.my mother was sarah ...see more

That title was the answer given by my father when folks asked him where Longriggend was! My dad was born in Longriggend on 6 January 1902. He lived there for a few years until his father moved to Dunfermline to seek new employment. They finally moved back when Grandad retired, but by this time, all the family were married and in fact, I think I had arrived. In the 1950s, we went on family holidays to ...see more
I was born in 1942 and by the time I was five years old I has a brother and two sisters. My mum and dad used to send me up to Longriggend for weekends and holidays, probably because my mum was so busy with the other three and anyway I loved going to Longriggend to the house where my father was born.
