More about this scene

The Onslow Arms in Loxwood stands close to the Wey and Arun Junction Canal, which was opened in 1816. The canal was intended to link the two rivers to form a continuous waterway from London to Littlehampton, but the railway killed it off and it closed in 1871. Canal restoration work has taken place in recent years.
