Minehead, Quay Street 1903

More about this scene
By 1903, the Red Lion, seen on the far left, has replaced a row of fishermen's cottages, but those beyond mostly survive, one being now The Old Harbour House Tea Rooms. Behind are spectacularly steep pine-clad hills. All the stone walls on the right went for the promenade extensions, but I suppose one should be grateful that Minehead's rebuilding mania did not sweep all of the town's seafaring past away.
