Netley, The Royal Victoria Hospital c.1955

More about this scene
At 1,424 ft long, this was one of the world's longest buildings; it was the first and the largest army hospital. The hospital is now demolished, and today this is the site of Royal Victoria Country Park. Only the chapel survives, which is now a museum. The tower can be accessed, and it gives a wide view of Southampton Water. Behind the hospital ran the railway, and some rails remain.
