More about this scene
Behind the thatched building are some of the fine trees of the park. The north-east quarter of Overstone Park is heavily wooded. Along the Sywell Road, from the 1950s on, closes of expensive houses were built within the park boundary, retaining many of the specimen trees. There was once an old village of Overstone near to the grandiose main mansion, but this was moved in 1821 and estate cottages built along the boundary.
