More about this scene

Overstone Park has for years been a leisure facility for nearby Northampton. Nowadays it combines a golf, hotel and leisure resort with residential lodges and a caravan park, all located around sizeable lakes. The Victorian Gothic pile of a country house is now Overstone Park School, situated in the centre of the vast park. This view was taken by the eastern lake.

Photo Memories
I have sepia photos of Overstone - somewhere, I wonder if it is possible that they are Francis Frith images? I have a b&w photo of my mum, my brother and myself sitting in front of a bank of daffodills, I think it was taken on a visit to Overstone. Mum always told me that someone well known had taken the phot.

Caravan Rally
My parents kept our caravan at Overstone - on the far side near the lake. One year, 1953 I think, the National Caravan Rally came to Overstone and the field filled up with hundreds of caravans. I think this photo is the milk queue!

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
