More about this scene
The sandhills to the north of Perranporth are constantly shifting; they are held in check by marram grass, reputed to have been introduced by Sir Walter Raleigh. The dunes hide St Piran's Oratory, Cornwall's famous 'lost church', built in the 7th century and covered by the sands.
