'Proud Preston' was part of the Old Fylde, and its main thoroughfare was Fishergate. This busy scene includes (from the left) Parkers, a chemist's, John B Hale, a tobacconist's, a hair-cutting saloon near the sun blinds, and the Town Hall in the far distance. On the right are John and H Platt the printers' premises, and on the far right is Clarke's General Store.
