We are now right on the border - part of the inn is in Hampshire. The name of the inn comes from two stagecoaches, 'The Fly' and 'The Bull', which plied the road. Cars of the early motor age travel along the road, or wait at the side. Large telegraph poles line the road.

I was born in Rake on 30:12:1937. This was in my grandparents house. Rake Cottage. My grandfather used to drive for a lady called Mrs Oliver. So was given the cottage to live in for the rest of his life. My father was also born on the corner of Hatch Lane. My dream holidays when growing up were spent in Rake.
