More about this scene
At the height of the season the South Promenade would often be crowded with holidaymakers. The more energetic and adventurous could make their way to the small wooden shed with the sloping roof, where they could hire cycles by the day, week, or longer. This area of the town was redeveloped in the 1970s with the building of the multi-storey Queen's and King's Courts.
