More about this scene
H P Farr, watchmaker and jeweller, took over the premises on the right shortly after the end of the Second World War, and he remained here until the mid 1960s. Next door was Beesley's Florists, earlier Bell's the tobacconist's, until it was replaced by John's Boutique. Then came Mrs Gristwood's bakery shop, which was replaced by Howe & Son, and ultimately by Spurriers. Further on is the Rickmansworth branch of the National Provincial Bank, which replaced Eastman's butcher shop and the Royal Herts Laundry.
