More about this scene
A later view of St Ann's Gate, with motor cars in evidence in the street scene - now, the gate can be used by pedestrians only. One of the houses on the left, known as Fielding House and now part of a school, is associated with the novelist Henry Fielding, whose wife Charlotte lived here in the 1730s.
