Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

Within the short span of 40 years (1220AD-1260AD) the Cathedral was built uniquely in one Gothic style, Early English. The rounded arch of the Norman period gave way to the pointed arch, providing increased architectural strength and the opportunity for grander, expansive buildings. The effect is one of lightness and grace. The lawn in the foreground replaced a former graveyard to enhance the vertical emphasis of the cathedral.

Home For Girls And Young Women In Churchfields Road
During the late 1960s I lived in Mill Road just down from the railway station. Our house was opposite Churchfields Road. Some way up this road on the left hand side was some kind of institution where teenage girls and young women lived. This was close to Grosvenor House, I believe. Medieval Banquets At The Bay Tree
In the early seventies, I was a student at Sarum St Michael College of Education in the Cathedral Close. The weekends were incredibly boring, with nothing to do and nowhere to have fun. Bishop Wordsworth's School In The 1960s
I attended Bishop Wordsworth's School between 1964 and 1967 arriving when I was 14. I had previously gone to a very prestigious grammar school in north London which in fact was awful. Discipline was non-existent, bullying rife and the standard of teaching, with few exceptions, abysmal. BWS was much, much better. The headmaster at Bishop's was Mr Blackledge, a man not to be messed with. ...see more

Gibbs Mew Brewery
I worked as a labourer at Gibbs Mew Brewery between November 1967 and April '68. It was a stop-gap job as I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life at the time. The work was boring and the days dragged but it was a job and I was grateful for it at the time. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
