Selsdon In 60's
A Memory of Selsdon.
We came to Selsdon in 53 from Kenley. We lived at 18 Foxearth Road.
In 56 I started at Selsdon primary, junior and senior school until seniors closed in I think 66 when we all went to Riddlesdown school which was a very early comp style school.
I remember the united dairy and of course Sid Kings where for 3d you got 1 cigarette and a swan vesta match.
I remember Good Neighbours pub being built and I think Mr Casey was landlord; he had a son. Ben.
Sandies fish and chip shop, the cobblers shop behind the Broadway.
I left the area in 73 but do sometimes drive through if in that region.
It was a great place to live then.
