More about this scene
This is one of the oldest parts of Shirley, where Stratford Road meets Olton Road and Haslucks Green Road. There was already a cluster of buildings here in the Elizabethan period, when Olton Road was known as Cock Lane. There was a Cock Inn on the corner then. These shops were built in the 1920s, and look much the same today.
