i watch a young lad in the 1500mtrs upon the last lap he was last place the lap bell goes it was like a gun going off because this lad took off like a bat out of hell at end of the first lap he shot up to first place. all seemed to be taken by surprise this lad had opened up a big gap down the back straight coming into the final bend the rest were attacking down the straight but the gap and the speed of this lad wins it ...see more
I have been told that my Great Great grandfather on my Father's side, owned a Grocer's shop in Skelmsdale. There was apparently, a photo of him holding my Grand grandfather in his arms. If anyone has any information or even better any photos that would be great.
I taught at Glenburn High School, Skelmersdale in 1973. I found lodgings with Mrs Smith, a retired lady, in a terraced house in High Street, Old Skelmersdale on the basis of bed and breakfast plus evening meal. i remember starting this school in 1965, it was just down the road from where I lived in Lancaster Crescent. I had happy memories there, even going back to help out on my child care project when I went to senior school.
