More about this scene
In 1914 the Palladium was offering a picture show every afternoon and George Graves & Co twice nightly. There was a time when cinema censorship was at a local level, usually performed by the watch committee. During the period of the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary in May 1935, Southport magistrates contributed to the celebrations by allowing children under fourteen to see 'adult only' films.
