This reservoir was newly built when the picture was taken. The nearby hamlet of Staylittle allegedly took its name from a village blacksmith who was so quick at shoeing horses that his smithy became known as Stay-a-Little.

I attended the primary school in Staylittle and was one of the last children there when it closed down, I think in the end there were only 7 or 8 of us. I came from the village of Llwyn y gog which at the time was the Forestry Commission village.
