New Park Road/ Gleneagel Stables

A Memory of Streatham.

So many memories i don't know where to begin!
I remember learning to ride at New Park Road Stables. The wooden stairs going up to the office above the stalls to book in.
Vodka and Gin the greys, Cossack, Cherry Brandy,Wellington the roman nosed Bay gelding, Janet the lady who ran it from Epsom racing stables....oh so much, Arthor Clouting from Reigate...my aunt bought a bay hogged cob mare from there kept her at New Park Road, Beryl with long blonde hair used to manage the Cloutings livery side. Oh and when we were freezing cold would tread to the top of the muck heap to warm our feet. Frith I remember you!
Dark hair, tall(but I was only about 9). Gyptian ?
I do remember one bloke who was a bit creepy, at New Park Road stables, he tried to untie my top and said would I like him to rape me...I was only about 9yrs old. Obviously I walked away, this was in the stall part under the office and hay loft. So many more things I remember, too many to write down
I definitely remember you Frith! New Park Road or Gleneagle can't remember that bit. And was It Hester from Gleneagle? My grey welsh pony was kept there.
Gosh so many memories! God Bless you all. Xx.
