School

A Memory of Streatham.

I went to school at St. Helen's School which was situated on the corner of North Side and Valley Road between 1955 - 1961. I actually lived in NORBURY and have some memories of Norbury when you open up a site for it. I hope you do.

I also attended St Helen's School between 1951 and 1962, I will be 70 this year so you can work out which class I was in. Which one were you in? I am trying to find my classmates. Some of them were Delia Farrar, Hilary Boxshall and Frances Corke. Ring any bells?

Wow!
I remember those names and yours too.
I will be 71 in June. I am still in touch with Stephanie Ralph nee Hole.
My sister Margaret must have been in the year below you. I was in the year above you.
Stephanie and I are friends on Facebook.
I now live in Herefordshire, Stephanie is in Warwickshire and Maggi is in Suffolk but on the Norfolk borders.
Hi Wendy,
i remember you well and also your sister, (Julie i think?) I also found miss Howlings very scary & remember many nativity plays that she "directed" with a great deal of theatrical dramas on her part.
i vividly remember the day we were all left in class unattended & started giggling & generally being silly. I threw my pencil case across the room at Delia i think, but she ducked, it smashed, and i was in very hot water for a while with Howlings. your list of our classmates has brought back many more memories but Margaret (Hills ?) was not mentioned. I was in touch with her until a few years ago when she was very ill with motor neurone disease. i have since lost touch with her & fear she may have died. I emigrated to Australia when i was 19 & have lived in Perth, Western Australia ever since. I wonder where all the other girls are now. I would love to hear from you all & keep in touch. Many happy thoughts to you Wendy & all who may remember me. Frances Lang nee Corke.
