More about this scene
Upper Green was originally known as Marsh Green, but it has long since been drained. This pool was previously a farm pond belonging to Upper Green Farm. It opened to the public in 1934, and was intended as a children's paddling pool. The conversion was paid for by the proprietor of the Wolverhampton newspaper, the Express and Star.
