Abingdon, Abbey Gardens, Trendell's Ruins 1925

More about this scene
Moving north of the Checker and across Abbey Close and into Abbey Gardens, we reach the site of the abbey church, which was about 300 feet long, and the cloisters and monastic buildings. The church lay east of the circular garden, and Queen Victoria's statue is roughly where the detached bell tower was situated. To the south, close to the wall separating the park from Abbey Close, are what look like the remains of a medieval church, Trendall's Ruins.
