Childhood Memories
A Memory of Althorne.
Just a few memories from when I lived in Althorne. We moved there from a very different way of living and were told we would find it hard to Fit in. Well in the summer holidays of September 77 we all turned up Mum Ann, Dad Brian, me and my 2 sisters Diane and Josephine now known as di and jo. The Endway Althorne. I was only 9 years old but remember it well. I went to Mayland and Althorne school just to the left of the Althorne to Southminster junction at the end of dairy farm rd. If my memory serves me right the head teacher was miss Clark Lewis and a very nice teacher before her was for the life of me I can't remember his name but he had a white dog that was always with him. I lived in Althorne till I moved out of the family home to live in Southminster. Well we made lots of friends after we were told we wouldn't fit in. Next door was Pat the there was Jim Vincent and his wife and kids lesslie and Colin who had racing pigeons of which was my dad's hobbies as well. There was also brian clark and his brothers mum and dad were Jim and Meg. Think we all had a very good time living there. I have heard that one of the lads still live there in Rita lilla. I will come back soon to tell you more
