More about this scene
In the 1970s a corner shop would still be trading on the 1904 site of L Green's Confectionary Shop opposite Nutley's Alehouse, which, it was said, was only ever lit by candles. Nutley's was later rebuilt as the King's Head. In 1998 the licence would cease when the building became a shop selling drawing and office materials.
