More about this scene
The George Hotel is entered through the old coaching arch under a 20th-century leaded window. From 1586 an Elizabethan inn thrived here as one of Andover's larger coaching inns, but now, through the arch, only the Georgian rebuild of the hotel remains, with hardly a yard and nothing of the stables.
