More about this scene

Typical of the suburban development along the coast between Littlehampton and Worthing, Willowhayne Avenue, although labelled Angmering-on-Sea, is actually in East Preston: presumably a name with more cachet. Of old East Preston, a few flinty cottages remain.

A Selection of Memories from Angmering-on-Sea

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Angmering-on-Sea

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I have fond memories of days out in Angmering. Dad used to park up in an enclosed grassy area and the beach was just beyond some bushes. We used to have food cooked on the primer stove and we'd spend all day there. I wasn't keen on the thick seaweed that got wrapped around my legs when paddling. This was back in the 60's . Anyone else remember where I'm talking about.?
Looking at this photo, The Angmering Court Marine Club is seen in the background behind the Blue Peter Club. Also, the beach huts appear to be made of wood.
