If I have the right Tony Smith then I remember once standing with you on the corner of Bunkers Hill and Clough End Road and I was trying to get you to show me the Love Me Do harp riff on the C. harp that you had with you at the time. I also remember you and your brother's musical double act, TOBY. I think you were going about with Evy M. at the time so that' how long ago it was. We never knocked about together or knew each other that well, but I did, yeah yeah yeah, learn that riff.
DID YOU LIVE NEAR RAY ROYAL, ?
No Steve, I don't recall anyone called Ray Royal.
RAY WAS MATES WITH JOHNNY BARRON,& ALAN RAWLINSON, I USED TO CALL HIM CHUNKY MONKEY, BEHIND HIS BACK, RAY WAS A BJG BROAD LAD, A BIT OF A FUNNY SO-AND SO. BUT HE WAS A GOOD HEARTED LAD, JUST A BIT LETS SAY UNUSUAL. JOHNNY BARRON, AT THE TIME WAS BOYFRIEND, TO THE BEAUTIFUL, LANA, AKA. EILEEN, JOHNSON. OF HIGHER ARDWICK,
Yes, I remember Johny Barron, dark haired lad, a nice lad, quietly spoken as I remember, he would have been a few years older than me. I also remember a lad that used to live on Higher Ardwick, corner of Brierley Ave. He was Stanley Broadhurst I think. The name Rawlinson springs to mind but very vague.
LANA, AND HER SISTER KAREN,, RAISED, THEIR BABY SISTER ADELE, AND SHE GREW UP BEAUTIFUL, AND STILL CALLS LANA- SISTER MUM. KAREN WENT TO WORK, LANA BROUGHT BABY ADELE UP. I AM NOT GOING INTO THE PERSONAL,PRIVATE REASONS, WHY WHY LANA,-AND.-KAREN.. RAISED ADELE, EXCEPT TO SAY.IT WAS VERY SAD. AND THE GIRLS ALL LIVE WITHIN TWO STREETS OF EACH OTHER, IN THE RADCLIFFE AREA., TAKE CARE ,STAY HEALTHY, KEEP SMILING. ITS AN ARDWICK TRADITION. SEE YA. ARDWICK ANDY.
