More about this scene
The Red Lion Hotel in the charming village of Armathwaite occupies a beautiful position at the foot of a tree-clad bank above the River Eden. Its name is thought to mean 'the clearing of the hermit', and it is perhaps best known today as a stop on the famous trans-Pennine Settle to Carlisle railway.
