Kirkhead Tower c1965 The folly of Kirkhead Tower stands on a headland overlooking the small coastal village of Allithwaite, which takes its name from a Norse settler named Eilifr. To the south lies Humphrey Head, which according to legend was the place where the last wolf in England was killed.
