My paternal family and descendants lived at the "Old Manor House" Askett for many years they were
The Reading family my Great Grandfather Francis Reading was the last to live there on his death,well some years after actually the house/land was sold and now the houses in Old Manor Close stand there. I believe that a specimen beam from the house is now at Meade Farm. How I would have loved to sample the days in Askett some 100 years ago and before.Many of my ancestors lay in the churchyard at Great Kimble.
