More about this scene
Fortunately, although a new road bridge has replaced this one, the old bridge survives as a footbridge. The church is dedicated to St Eata, a 7th-century missionary who settled here to convert the pagan Anglo-Saxons. The church was later built using stone robbed from nearby Wroxeter.
