More about this scene
After the First World War, Aylesbury began developing along the arterial routes into the town. Along the Tring Road, the late 19th century saw the arrival of factories and the cemetery seen in earlier views, and also housing developments such as the Edwardian Queen's Park or the 1890s Victoria Park. This took development as far east as the old main road which had turned south to Walton, now marked by King Edward's Avenue. From the 1920s, speculative semi-detached and detached villas sprang up further east: this is a typical 1960s example.
