I was born at the Duchess of Connaught Nursing Home in Bagshot in 1943 and my Mother remembered my Father paying a quick visit and being told off for hanging his Army coat on the door!

how many people remember the good old Bird In Hand pub on London road of Bagshot its was opposite the new waitrose store. well folks next year in 2017 it will be turned into costa coffee drive through. does anyone have fond memories .managed to take a recent photo of the old bird in hand

London road in Bagshot has changed little there is extension on cricketers now premier inn . the building across the road half built? further down on right side is huge nursing home title Sunrise . My father was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Surrey Constabulary. We were moved from Coldharbour in Surrey to the police house in Bagshot. My father is Eric Shields and was the police Sergeant for Bagshot, Windlesham and Lightwater until his retirement in 1979.
