More about this scene
This shows a beautifully tranquil scene as the river Wye eases its way through Bakewell. The photographer took up his position on the 13th-century road bridge and pointed his camera south towards Haddon Hall. The path to the right is already surfaced: it was clearly well used in those days, as it is today. The gate into Bridge House gardens can seen on the right.
