Looking For Ian

A Memory of Balham.

Back in 1966 or possibly 1967 a friend of mine, now in her seventies and with a memory that is to say the best, sketchy, went on holiday from her home town of Sheffield to Ostend in Belgium. There she met a young man called Ian who lived in Balham. This holiday romance continued on their return to the UK., she travelled down to Balham and he to Sheffield. Conducting a romance in the sixties over such distance was not easy and things were made worse when the young ladies mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer which left Terry (the young ladies name), with a sister and seriously ill mum to look after. Eventually Ian anc Terry lost touch but she never forgot him and she has spoken of him quite a lot recently.
There are huge gaps in her memory but she does keep remembering odd things now and again. She has mentioned that Ian's father was a policeman but at the moment thats about all.
I realise this is very little information but I would dearly like to know if anyone knows or can recall Ian and his family. I know Terry would be thrilled to know if he is still around and ever thinks of her and their young, happy days.
