Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

Church Street leads down to St. Mary-le-Gill church. It was built around 1160 on the edge of the town by Cistercian monks, who found the natives not very friendly when they tried to establish an abbey here in 1147. The Commercial Hotel can be seen on the left, with two local men passing the time of day. Savage's and Burton's Menswear shop are on the right, and there is a cafe further up the street.

The Heap Family/ Lovick Family
My dad was born in 1923 at 23 East Street, Barnoldswick. He was born out of wedlock to Lilian Victoria Heap; who lived with her father, Harry Heap, in East Street. My father, Harold Heap, had very few memories of his childhood. A Wonderful Time Growing Up In Barnoldswick
I was 10 years old, and had lived at 62, Esp Lane, but now live at 5 Sackville Street. I loved life, school, elderly neighbours, friends that lived on Colne Road, Cavendish Street, and Sackville Street. My First Day In Barlick

A Source Of Barlick Information
Anyone interested in West Craven, including Barnoldswick, should do a Google search for the term oneguyfrombarlick. You will soon find the largest local history website in the UK which contains masses of information about the area and its history. The site is free, non-profit making and is a locally owned and run facility dedicated totally to exploring the history of the area.

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
