More about this scene
Taken from about Junction station, the jumble of old buildings in the foreground developed with the arrival of the railway. With the slaughterhouse, the 'chemical manure' factory and a railway engine shed, the houses to the left must have suffered greatly from the smoke and smells emanating from this site.
