More about this scene
Across the Colne the main road to Pinner reaches Batchworth Heath, just before the old Middlesex county boundary. The Heath has been tamed since 1903 and the pond has gone, although a smaller one survives further away. Ye Olde Green Manne pub remains largely unchanged, even the gilded lettering survives. Away to the right are the south lodges to Moor Park, a pair of small lodges linked by a Tuscan Doric arch. From this viewpoint these are now hidden by young oaks.
