Bath, Mineral Water Fountain 1909

More about this scene
The colonnaded street behind, part of the 1789 Bath Improvement Act scheme, is an elegant piece of Georgian town planning. It is very close to architectural perfection: the effect is marred by notices and posters (note that for artificial teeth in a first floor window,) and comprehensively so by the fountain in the foreground. This was installed in 1839, but is now removed to Terrace Walk.
