More about this scene
From the High Street, walk down Upper Borough Walls on the site of the town's medieval north wall to turn left into Union Street. This view is from the southern end, looking north along a street designed and laid out by Thomas Baldwin soon after 1800. It became a shopping street later in the century, when many ornate shop fronts were installed.
