Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

The 1880s was a decade of civic pride and numerous initiatives, many during the mayorships of the vigorous Joshua Hawkins. At the end of the smart De Parys Avenue, Bedford Park was laid out to designs by the noted park designers William Barron and Sons from Derby in 1883 during Hawkins's first mayoralty. They planted over 18,000 trees and shrubs, and buildings were steadily added: pavilions and a cafe, seen in this view, and in 1903 a bandstand. The foreground is now a football pitch, where boys' teams are urged on by roaring, fanatical fathers from the touchline.
