The smart white pleasure launch with the awning is a frequent sight in most of the 1920s views along the river. At the far right is the cut that formerly by-passed Duck Mill's leet, now a gated overflow channel-cum-lock. This viewpoint is almost the same as photograph number 70443; it is striking how much shorter the young ladies' skirts have become in the intervening eight years.
