More about this scene
The Vale of Berkeley has long been a rich agricultural area. In days gone by, Berkeley cheese was as famous as Double Gloucester, and in recent times this locally-made delicacy has enjoyed a revival in popularity. Almost equidistant from Gloucester and Bristol, situated on the southern side of the Severn Estuary, Berkeley is a small market town, a trading centre for the surrounding rural community, as it has been for centuries.
