More about this scene
There is no disputing the claim that the Minster is one of Europe's most beautiful and finest churches. The Early English east end was begun in 1220, and the magnificent Perpendicular west front, with its richly pinnacled towers, was completed in 1420. Inside, amid the immense display of ornament and sculpture, is a rare stone sanctuary chair known as the Frith Stool.
