Here we are looking along Church Street towards the 13th-century tower of St Eadburg's Church. Both the Swan Inn and the Six Bells public house, seen on the right, are both open today, but their frontages have been renovated and they have new signs. The Swan now serves Breakspear ales.

My father was in the RAf and stationed in Bicester. I was born in 1948. He was still in the RAF and my mother took me to live in Bicester until I was about 3. She lodged with a woman there. I have been trying to remember her name but up to now I can't remember. I wonder if there is anyone who had any family members who took in the families of RAF personnel. I think it was a small farm she lived on.
I lived in Abrossden during the early 60s. I went to Bicester Highfield secondary modern. Typical 60s styling. I had the best time there and the school diners were great. I went on to 9 years in the Military and saw service in Germany Hong Kong and Singapore. I only remember two kids there. Sheila Ward and Susan Thompson. I only remember them as they were the school glamour girls. Great days.....smoking on the big playing field at the back. Take care you lot.
I remember Bicester, my late sister Maureen used to work in Marys cafe,in 1970, I used to work in Preeces drapery I think it was called. we used to live on the RAF camp at Bicester,
I remember many a happy hour hanging around the music store.

My dad was a cpl in the RAF, I worked in the officers mess for a time,then we moved down south,
Did anyone go to Bicester Secondary School? I went there in 1964-1965, I was 14-15 years old and would have been in the 10th grade. I was the only American student, my father was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford. I had many friends, if you remember me.. Millie Venezia.. please email me.
