More about this scene
This village is set high up close to the Sussex border. The village pub, the Hare and Hounds, has barely changed since this photograph was taken 35 years ago. Look at the car to the far right of the line: it is remarkable how old-fashioned some cars still being driven in the 1960s now look. Bidborough's claim to fame is a rare form of chestnut tree that only grows around the village. Predictably, it is known as the Bidborough chestnut.
